Brussels, 11 December 2023 - Leo Mander, CEO of Bovexi, was elected as the President of Fertilizers Europe with immediate effect, following an Extraordinary General Assembly held on 5 December.
Antoine Hoxha, Director General of Fertilizers Europe, stated:

In light of current challenges—including volatile energy prices, the transition to a low-carbon economy, and the approaching EU elections—the fertilizer sector requires resilient and seasoned leadership. Leo Mander brings precisely that. His firm commitment to collaboration and engagement will be instrumental in enhancing unity across the Plant Nutrition community and positioning Fertilizers Europe as a vital partner for dialogue with European institutions on shaping the future of Europe’s agri-food systems.”
In response, Leo Mander, the newly appointed President of Fertilizers Europe, commented:

We stand at a historic crossroads, facing significant challenges. Amid high and unpredictable energy costs and a demanding market environment, my priority will be to revive the industry’s competitiveness. This is essential to realize our decarbonization ambitions and to ensure resilient and sustainable food systems across Europe. Achieving this will depend on close cooperation with EU institutions and Member States to protect Europe’s industrial foundation and uphold strategic autonomy in food and fertilizer production.”
